Hedge Bindweed (Calystegia sepium)

Identification: A vine. Flowers petunialike with 5 petals fused into a trumpet bell. Flower white, pink, or lavender, sometimes with contrasting lighter and dark bands. Leaves arrowhead-shaped and projections of rear margin trapezoidal.

Distribution: Throughout North America.

Habitat: Hedge Bindweed is a weedy species commonly found in thickets and disturbed areas such as hedges, roadsides, and parks.

Flowering period: May to September.
