Arabis laevigata The pods of Smooth Rock Cress are elongate and droop. However the leaf bases of Smooth Rock Cress clasp the stem and the lower leaves are not woolly.
Arabis hirsuta The pods of Hairy Rock Cress are upright, not drooping, and the leaves clasp the stem even though they are hairy. Sicklepod (Arabis canadensis) Identification: Flowers white, small. Pods long, curved, and drooping. Leaves thin and elongate, lower leaves wider, toothed, and fuzzy. Plant 1 to 3 feet in height. Distribution: Throughout the eastern United States and southeastern Canada. Habitat: Sicklepod is found in woods. Flowering period: April to July. |
