Giant Ragweed (Ambrosia trifida)

Identification: Flowers small, green, nodding, consisting of a receptacle containing a number of small round florets. Flowers arranged in a tight, compact, terminal spike (raceme). Leaves divided into 3 sharp-pointed lobes. Plant up to 15 feet in height.

Distribution: Throughout most of North America.

Habitat: Giant Ragweed is a weedy species found in fields, roadsides, ditches, and just about every type of disturbed habitat.

Flowering period: August to October.
