Narrow-leaved White-topped Aster (Sericocarpus linifolius)

Identification: Flowers white with very few rays (4 or 5). Flowers in a flat cluster. Leaves linear and tough. Plant 1.0 to 2.5 feet in height.

Distribution: Indiana in the west to New England in the east, southward to Georgia and Louisiana.

Habitat: Sandy soil.

Flowering period: June to September.
