White Snakeroot (Ageratina altissima)

Identification: Flowers white arranged in a flat-topped cluster. Leaves heart-shaped, with a sharp, apical point, and a square base. Leaf margins toothed and petioles thin and elongate.

Distribution: North Dakota in the west to New Brunswick in the east, southward to Florida and Texas.

Habitat: White Snakeroot is found in rich woods and thickets.

Flowering period: July to October.

Comment: Eupatorium rugosum has been used as the scientific name for this species.
