Hyssop-leaved Thoroughwort (Eupatorium hyssopifolium)

Identification: Flowers white and arranged in flat-topped clusters. Leaves thin, short, and grasslike, arranged in whorls of four about the stem. Small leaflets often arise from the leaf axils. Plant 1 to 2 feet in height.

Distribution: Missouri and Illinois in the west to New York and southern New England in the east, southward to Texas and Florida.

Habitat: This species is primarily found on sandy soils and in fields and clearings.

Flowering period: August to November.
