Eupatorium pilosum Round-leaved Thoroughwort is most similar to Hairy Thoroughwort. However the leaves of Hairy Thoroughtwort are more elongate and the leaf margin teeth are blunter. Round-leaved Thoroughwort (Eupatorium rotundifolium) Identification: Flowers white arranged in flat-topped clusters. Leaves heart-shaped, sessile to the stem, and with a dentate outer margin. Plant 1 to 3 feet in height. Distribution: New England and New York in the north, westward to Indiana and Missouri, and southward to Florida and Texas. Habitat: This species is found in open woods and other dry soils, primarily near the eastern coast. Flowering period: July to September. |
