Lamb Succory (Arnoseris minima)

Alien: Native of Europe.

Identification: The flowers are small and yellow and the stem swollen below the flower. The leaves are dandelionlike, smooth, forming a basal rosette. Plant 6 t0 12 inches in height.

Distribution: Southeastern Canada and the northeastern United States, southward to Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Habitat: Lamb Succory is a weed found in fields and along roadsides.

Flowering period: May to September.
