Sweet Everlasting (Pseudognaphalium obtusifolium)

Identification: Flowers ovate, pointed at the tip, white, and arranged in terminal clusters. Scaly flower bracts tinged with yellow. Flowers not opening until in seed. Stem woolly. Leaves elongate, almost grasslike. Plant 1 to 2 feet in height.

Distribution: Throughout eastern North America and the Plains States.

Habitat: Sweet Everlasting is found on dry soil in fields, clearings, and forest margins.

Flowering period: August to November.
