Slender Corydalis (Corydalis micrantha)

Identification: Flowers yellow, elongate with a long, single, up-curved spur. The petals are not upturned or dentate. Leaves much divided, but arranged in groups of three leaflets. Plant about 8 to 16 inches in height.

Distribution: Found in the southeastern United States and the central plains region to Wisconsin and Indiana. Absent from the northeastern United States.

Habitat: Slender Corydalis is typically found in open woods on sandy or gravelly soils.

Flowering period: March to May.
