Silverleaf Scurf Pea (Pediomelum argophyllum [Pursh] J. Grimes)

Identification: Flowers dark blue, pealike, and occurring in small clusters near the top of the plant. Leaves covered with silky white hairs and divided into 3 or 5 ovate leaflets. Plant 1 to 2 feet in height.

Distribution: Found in the Prairie States and provinces.

Habitat: Silverleaf Scurf Pea is found in prairie habitats.

Flowering period: June to August.

Similar Species: This species is easily identified by the silky white leaves divided into 3 or 5 leaflets.
