Nodding Wild Onion (Allium cernuum Roth)

Identification: Flowers pink or white in a globular cluster. Flower stalk bent at the top causing flower cluster to bend over (nod). Leaves narrow, elongate, nearly flat. Plant 1 to 2 feet in height.

Distribution: Throughout most of North America.

Habitat: Nodding Wild Onion is found on rocky soil in open woods or along wooded slopes.

Flowering period: June to August.

Similar Species: The nodding flower cluster and the flat leaves are distinctive for Nodding Wild Onion.
